Workplace Wellness: Abuse and Mental Health Challenges
Distress in the home has a major impact on workplace wellness. And the number of employees experiencing partner abuse, substance abuse and mental health challenges of all kinds has significantly risen during the pandemic. Join us as our experts share their experiences and perspectives on the abuse and mental health challenges that impact Hawaii's workplace.
David Mitchell will share some perspectives from Hawaii’s largest EAP on how Mental Health, Substance Abuse, and Wellness have been impacted; resources that EAPs have provided that make a difference; and some tips for how we can adapt to these changes and support those impacted the most.
Nanci Kreidman will help the participants understand how the pandemic has challenged island families – through a partner abuse lens:
- Simple definition of power and control tactics.
- Staying at home is not safer for people who live with abusive partners. They are prisoners.
- What should employers look for in their employees?
- What are the red flags?
- Simple tips for supervisors on how to have a conversation with an employee about concerns.
You won't want to miss this intriguing discussion on how to understand and cope with one of the biggest disruptors in the workplace.
