Civility in the Workplace: Tips on How to Handle Conflict & Communication

Have you noticed employees struggling to communicate effectively or clashing over differing opinions? Maybe you’ve seen tensions rise because of “tone” or communication styles. It’s something many HR professionals are encountering more frequently these days. Studies show that workplace conflicts, often rooted in broader societal polarization or diverse cultural, professional, and ideological perspectives, are becoming more common. If left unaddressed, these conflicts can lead to frustration, misunderstandings, and unproductive behavior.
As HR professionals, we play a key role in fostering connection and understanding in the workplace. That’s why we’re thrilled to welcome Cherolyn Knapp and Joe Cundall, who will guide us on how to identify and understand the roots of workplace conflicts. They’ll share thoughtful insights and practical strategies to resolve these issues and promote a more harmonious and collaborative environment. In this session:
- Discover the importance of behavioral insights in shaping effective communication strategies.
- Understand why it’s essential to recognize how a leader’s natural communication style is perceived by others.
- Learn how to make simple yet impactful adjustments to reduce reactivity, improve quality of engagements in conflict situations and build stronger connections with team members.
- Explore conflict resolution processes and resources to address challenges effectively.
