Don't Forget About Recertification!

As certified professionals you have gone through hours of studying, a lengthy exam process and the stress of waiting to see the word “PASSED” flash across that screen. Now, after all that hard work we begin the process of…recertification! Yes, the work resumes to ensure we do not allow our credentials to lapse. Some professionals get all their credits completed in one year. Others chunk it out each year by signing up for different events. However you plan it out, here are some tips to work towards your recertification.
- Attend SHRM Hawaii learning sessions. So far in 2022, we have had over 10 sessions with more than 20 recertification credits. Check out our events at www.shrmhawaii.org.
- SHRM Recertification Guide eNewsletter. Are you a member of SHRM National? If so, did you know you can update your profile preferences to receive emails targeted to your specific learning? This eNewsletter will give you updates on national programs that are eligible for SHRM-CP and SHRM- SCP credits. Not currently a member? Make sure you sign up today!
- Download the recertification app. This is a quick and easy way to enter your credits, check your recertification dates, and more.
- Don’t forget the SHRM Hawaii State Conference! Not only is it a great way to network with our HR Community throughout the state of Hawaii, but there are also valuable breakout sessions with credits to help you on your recertification journey. And, as some of you experienced this past October, we have our new certification lounge, an exclusive experience for certified professionals.
Not certified? Not a problem! Join us for the spring session of our SHRM CP/SHRM-SCP Certification Review. Virtual classes start on March 1st, 2023 in partnership with the University of Hawaii Outreach College.
Hear from a recent student on their experience:
“The SHRM Certification class was great for motivating me to get my certification! I really enjoyed having a small group to push me to study and discuss questions when preparing for the exam. The lectures were helpful in absorbing the material the first time and having the SHRM books available to us since we enrolled in the class helped solidify my understanding. I recommend it if you’re not sure where to get started on studying for the exam!”
