The Professional Development and Certification committee is happy to announce the completion of the Spring 2022 SHRM certification prep class. Congratulations to the 13 students that completed the class. Best of luck with your exam!
As we enter the first testing window for certification in 2022, our committee wanted to highlight recent certification updates. For the 2022-2023 testing year SHRM revised the SHRM BoCK (Body of Competency and Knowledge) to the new SHRM BASK (Body of Applied Skills and Knowledge). These updates apply to both CP and SCP certification windows, going forward.
According to SHRM National, the SHRM BASK centers around practical applications and allows HR professionals to focus more on applying knowledge, skills, and abilities to specific situations. Those taking the exam will find it important to understand how to resolve scenarios rather than just answering questions. The focus on “real world” scenarios will help test-takers in their current roles and prepare them for the future.
Instructors have also had to pivot with the new material and SHRM Hawaii looks forward to continuing to improve our exam prep classes as we grow, as well. We are excited for the Fall 2022 classes and invite those interested in getting certified to consider joining us! More info to come soon!
